A Warm Welcome from Rainbow's Registrar

It is required by DoDDS that all students, whether new to Rainbow or returning, register each year.

When enrolling your student in Grades 1-6 the following must be provided in order for your child to begin school at Rainbow:

1.      Birth Certificate or Passport

2.      Social Security Card

3.      If military, Sponsor’s orders listing the following:

a.       Student’s Name

b.      Correct/Updated DEROS date

4.      If civilian:

a.       Sponsor’s Transportation Agreement

b.      Proof LQA

5.      Current Address/Telephone Numbers

6.      2- Local Emergency Contacts

7.      1- permanent stateside contact

8.      Immunization Record (showing full MMR, OPV, DTP, HepB, and Varicella).  Contact the Katterbach Health Clinic at 467-2717 (or by e-mail to: katterbachclinic@wur.amedd.army.mil  

     (This will be reviewed by the nurse and you will be contacted in the event of any discrepancies)

9.      Records from previous school

In order to be eligible for kindergarten, your child must turn 5 by October 31^st.

Rainbow Elementary is also pleased to offer the Ansbach/Katterbach/Illesheim community two additional programs for children under Kindergarten age. The Sure Start Program is a comprehensive education program  for children age 4. 18 slots are available each year with notification at the end of August. If interested in this program, there is a separate application that can be picked up at the school.

Preschool Services for Children with Disabilities (PSCD) is a program for children ages 3 to 6 who have a significant developmental delay. The delay may occur in one of more of the following areas: physical/motor, cognitive, language/communication, or social/motor. Children often come to the PSCD program through an evaluation by Educational Development Intervention Services (EDIS). However, if you believe your child might have a delay, feel free to stop by the office and pick up a registration packet.  After the packet is filled out you will be contacted for an evaluation.

Rainbow Elementary is open for registration daily from 900 to 1500

You must also register your child for a school bus pass at the school bus office (located in the school).
